(CNN) — Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was seen on video as he appeared to throw a drink into the crowd at EverBank Stadium near the end of the team’s 26-0 loss to the host Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. In the viral video circulating on social media, a visibly frustrated Tepper is seen in a suite at the stadium, along with Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer, when he appears to empty his drink into the stands before tossing away the cup.The incident occurred after Carolina rookie quarterback Bryce Young threw an interception toward the end of the fourth quarter, sealing the team’s shutout loss.“We are aware of the video and have no further comment at this time,” an NFL spokesperson told CNN in a statement.CNN has reached out to the Carolina Panthers for comment but did not immediately hear back.Carolina’s shutout loss was particularly significant as not only did it drop the Panthers to a 2-14 record with one game left in the season, but it secured the No. 1 pick...

(CNN) — Rafael Nadal made his long-awaited injury comeback on Sunday, playing in his first match since January when he took to the court with doubles partner Marc Lopez at the Brisbane International – and he didn’t rule out continuing to play after the 2024 season.Although the Spanish pair lost 6-4 6-4 to Australians Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson, Nadal unleashed some powerful winners, moving more freely around the court after undergoing hip surgery to treat the injury that forced him to miss most of last season. The 22-time grand slam champion has battled a series of injuries of late and said in May that 2024 will likely be his last year on tour but, on Sunday, he didn’t rule out continuing past this date.“The problem about saying it’s going to be my last season is that I can’t predict what’s going on 100% in the future. That’s the thing,” Nadal said ahead of his comeback match, according to Reuters. “That’s why I say probably.“It’s obvious it’s a high percentage that it’s g...

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins goes shirtless before game against Packers

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 14:30:26 GMT

It’s become a tradition before every home game for the Vikings.A person of significance will stand at a perch inside U.S. Bank Stadium, sound the customary Gjallarhorn, then lead a Skol chant to get the home crowd fired up.Never has somebody done it quite like franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins on New Year’s Eve before the Vikings hosted the rival Green Bay Packers. Though he wasn’t playing in the primetime game, Cousins did his part to bring the energy, going shirtless in the seconds leading up to kickoff.Initially, Cousins wore a hoodie for the occasion, unzipping it to a massive ovation from the collective fan base that misses his presence on the field. He also had some bling around his neck as a callback to the “Kirko Chainz” persona that made waves last season. It’s unclear if Cousins has played his last game for the Vikings. He’s recovering from a torn Achilles tendon and his contract is set to expire after this season.Greatest Skol Cha...

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 14:30:26 GMT

The St. Thomas men’s basketball team entered Sunday’s game with the Kansas City Roos at Schoenecker Arena on a high. For the majority of the first half, however, it looked as though the Tommies would be stumbling into the new year.Their leading scorer, Parker Bjorklund, was being held in check, they were getting dominated on the glass and, perhaps most damaging of all, they were being outhustled. In the end, the Tommies weren’t able to simply flip a switch, but they did flip the script, outscoring the Roos 45-23 in the second half to coast to a 77-56 victory. The Tommies (10-5, 2-0 Summit league) trailed 33-25 with 2 minutes, 23 seconds to play in the first half, They closed the half on a 7-0 run, punctuated by Brooks Allen’s 3-point basket at the buzzer. They then went on a 17-3 during the first six minutes of the second half, and the rout was on.The Tommies said there was no panic when they went into the locker room at halftime, but there was a sense of urgency.“We knew o...
