WASHINGTON (AP) — Only about half of Democrats think President Joe Biden should run again in 2024, a new poll shows, but a large majority say they’d be likely to support him if he became the nominee. The poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows that 26% of Americans overall want to see Biden run again — a slight recovery from the 22% who said that in January. Forty-seven percent of Democrats say they want him to run, also up slightly from only 37% who said that in January. The ambivalence among Democratic voters comes as Biden is preparing to formally announce his 2024 reelection campaign as soon as next week, according to people briefed on the discussions. The president has been eyeing Tuesday, April 25 — four years to the day since he entered the 2020 race — although no final decisions have been made. Despite the reluctance of many Democrats to see Biden run for another term, 78% of them say they approve of the job he’s doing as president. And a to...

It's likely to be the coolest weekend here in a week--one with temps averaging 20-degrees below those we saw last weekend and more than 11-degrees below normal. What's more ANY daytime heating sets the stage for cloud develop in what is to be a very unstable atmosphere with cold air aloft. Temps in such a situation drop faster than usual with height and this encourages air at the bottom of the atmosphere to become unstable and begin to rise and cool. The clouds which form in such an environment can be "convective" and capable of produce scattered instability showers in the warmer hours of the day. What's more, given temps as low as 20 degrees within a mile of the service, it wouldn't be surprising to see any spotty rain showers capable of being mixed with some small hail in spots.THE ...

In the aftermath of a lifeless playoff opener, Bo Byram was careful to differentiate this Avalanche team from last year’s squad. Those Stanley Cup champions? They responded to postseason losses with remarkable poise.“We’re not the same team as last year,” though, Byram pointed out to The Post as a quiet locker room emptied out after a Game 1 playoff loss. He and his teammates have grown tired of the constant comparisons to that title run. This team hadn’t proven anything yet in the face of adversity. This year’s Avalanche unlocked confidence in their ability to respond with a comeback 3-2 win over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night at Ball Arena. SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry paused after he buried a 3-pointer early in the fourth and pumped his chest Thursday night. Moments later, Donte DiVincenzo picked off the Kings and pushed the ball up the court, with the Warriors’ possession ending with a thunderous dunk by Jonathan Kuminga and a roar from the gold-clad crowd at Chase Center. The Warriors looked like the team they were pegged to be at the beginning of the season. They were locked in on both ends of the floor, made smarter decisions with the ball and were aggressive on the glass. With Warriors superfan and Bay Area rapper E-40 sitting in his usual baseline seats near the team’s bench, Curry’s 36 points and Kevon Looney’s 20 rebounds and nine assists led the Warriors to a 114-97 win and gave Golden State the chance to even the series with Game 4 this weekend. With Draymond Green serving a suspension and Gary Payton II out sick, the Warriors were facing a tough task of containing the Kings...
